Saudi Arabia is a Middle Eastern country that occupies most of the Arabian peninsula and has both Persian Gulf and Red Sea coastlines. Neighbouring countries include Jordan to the northwest, Iraq and Kuwait to the northeast, Bahrain and Qatar to the east, the United Arab Emirates to the southeast, and Oman and Yemen to the south. Saudi Arabia contains the holy Muslim cities of Mecca and Medina, to which all physically and financially able Muslims are required to make a pilgrimage at least once if possible.

** A vaccination certificate is required for entry for travellers over 1 year of age coming from countries with risk of YF.

Malaria

Transmission occurs throughout the year. Chemoprophylaxis is recommended for certain areas.

Traveller’s Diarrhoea

Moderate risk exists throughout the country, including in deluxe accommodations. Food and beverage precautions are essential to reduce the likelihood of illness.

A Gastro Kit can be purchased from Travel Vaccination Health care, which includes prescription and non-prescription medications for presumptive self-treatment if diarrhoea occurs.
